Backyard Burgers, Three Ways

One burger method, three seasoning directions: classic Cow POW, coffee-forward Brew POW or simple SPG.

Serves 4 • Prep: 10 minutes • Cook: 12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb ground beef, 80/20

  • 1 1/2 tsp Cow POW

  • 4 burger buns

  • 4 cheese slices, optional

  • 4 lettuce leaves and 4 tomato slices

  • 1 tbsp neutral oil for the grate

How to make it

  1. Heat grill or griddle to medium-high. Form beef into four equal patties with a shallow dimple in each center.

  2. Season both sides evenly with Cow POW just before cooking. Lightly oil the cooking surface.

  3. Cook about 5–6 minutes per side until the center reaches 160°F; use a thermometer rather than color. Add optional cheese during the last minute.

  4. Toast buns briefly and build burgers with lettuce and tomato.

Swap or combine flavors

Replace Cow POW with 1 1/2 tsp Brew POW for coffee depth, or 3/4 tsp SPG for a straightforward savory burger. Choose one blend per batch; do not add all three amounts.

Make it a meal

Serve with Crispy Garlic Smashed Potatoes and a cucumber salad.

Shop the flavors

The blends are finely ground: coat food lightly and evenly. Hold additional salt until you have tasted the cooked dish. Cooking times are estimates; use the doneness instructions.
