The Shrimp Life seasons skillet shrimp served over creamy, simply dressed grits.

Serves 4 • Prep: 15 minutes • Cook: 20–25 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 1 1/2 tsp The Shrimp Life

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 cup quick-cooking grits (not instant)

  • 3 cups water

  • 1 cup milk

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar, optional

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

  • 2 tbsp sliced scallions

How to make it

  1. Bring water and milk to a gentle simmer in a saucepan. Whisk in grits, reduce heat to low and cook 5–10 minutes, stirring often, or follow package timing. Stir in butter and optional cheese; keep warm.

  2. Pat shrimp dry and toss with The Shrimp Life.

  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp in a single layer, in batches if needed, about 2–3 minutes per side until pearly, white and opaque throughout.

  4. Remove skillet from heat and stir in lemon juice. Spoon shrimp over grits and scatter scallions on top.

Swap or combine flavors

The Shrimp Life is the main seasoning; taste the grits before considering extra salt, especially if adding cheese.

Make it a meal

Serve with Garlic Green Beans with Lemon using Salt Free, or a plain green salad.

Shop the flavors

The blends are finely ground: coat food lightly and evenly. Hold additional salt until you have tasted the cooked dish. Cooking times are estimates; use the doneness instructions.
